Yves Reid Romans was born in Bridgeport Connecticut to a Scots-Irish father and a mother of Old English decent with a streak of Native American blood ancestry.

His father was a motorcylce repair man and former marine, his mother worked for the church.  She was very devout, refined and ceremonial.  Yves one sister, Fawn came to work for the red cross.

He was close to both parents and they were very influential in encouraging his natural poetic inclinations.  The discovery of his poetic nature was the most important event of his life, which surfaced along the woods and rivers of his hometown. The Professor was a precocious child who liked to light fires and dreamt of roaming the open plains with his ancestors.

At present, The Professor splits his time between Hell's Kitchen in New York, the Pacific Coast of Mexico and the hills and bays of San Francisco, visiting old haunts and communing with the living spirit of his favorite poets.

His weakness is the perfect twist of word and he is often heard uttering “Wow” as he gazes deeply into the ether.  He often carries a vile of ”modern” snuff, a buffalo stone acquired from the South Dakota Badlands, a rattle snake tooth from the woods of the northeast, a rabbit’s foot and a spiral pocket notebook and pen.
